Golden larches in the Engadine

Landscape photography in the Upper and Lower Engadine in autumn

The Engadine Valley holds a special allure for me in autumn. Perhaps it's the golden larches and stunning lakes that make it so special. This photography trip didn't disappoint either. Magical moods once again allowed me to capture landscapes that invite you to dream – to dream of this brief but glorious golden time in autumn.

My absolute highlight came at the end of the trip when the larches had almost passed their peak. Some were already losing their needles. But the weather forecast predicted fog. So I set off for sunrise, heading just above the fog line. What awaited me there can be seen in the cover photo of this post. Anyone familiar with the interplay of fog knows what it takes to find and photograph such a scene. What a fantastic end to the larch season in the Engadine!
